Bridging the Digital Divide

Thanks to funding provided under Circular 60/2021, our school has been able to take a significant step toward closing the digital divide for students at risk of educational disadvantage.

Clonroche NS received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to fund the purchase of a school set of 16 iPads for the children. It also went towards replacement class teacher laptops needed to facilitate effective teaching practices in the classroom.

This investment has had a positive impact on school life, empowering students to access online resources, complete assignments, and build essential digital skills. We are committed to using this funding to create more equitable learning opportunities for all our students
