Clonroche N.S places a huge emphasis on the promotion of our native Gaelic language. Pupils are exposed to the medium of Gaeilge in a variety of ways. These include singing, acting out a comhrá or dráma beag, frasaí na seachtaine and our annual festival of Gaeilge; Seachtain na Gaeilge.
We have also invested in a new comprehensive Irish language programme, Abair Liom, that runs throughout the school.
Our Seachtain na Gaeilge is one of the highlights of our school year. All pupils are encouraged to partake in the many aspects of the school week through the medium of Irish. Throughout this special week, students get to experience table quizzes, P.E, ceilí dancing, traditional music, a maidin caifé, a picnic Ghaelach, badge/hat designing competitions and the main highlight of the week, the Seo Talainne.
